Design & Technology Week

16–22 October 2023

Unsustainable patterns of consumption and production are the root cause of triple planetary crises; climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Design & Technologies Week is your opportunity to use the Design Thinking Process to tackle SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production.

Students will be given the exciting chance to participate in our competition, vying for incredible prizes. This competition encourages active involvement with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a specific focus on Sustainable Development Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production. Our ultimate objective is to foster global sustainability.

Your task is to:

  1. use the Design Thinking Process to help create an innovative product, service, environment or combination of these to address any of the issues relating to SDG 12.
  2. have a final design ready, showing your proposal on one A3 page with brief annotations that describe how it works and how it responds to SDG 12. Your proposal could be a sketch, digital representation or photo of a physical concept.
  3. submit your entry to DATTAQLD by emailing designtechweek@dattaqld.org.au.
